Can you upload the latest version? On 23 October they patched a bug that crashed whenever changing settings without using a controller.
 
Any chance you could also upload the Japanese Files? They've said something about changing the language in Steam and allowing the files to download.
I don't know if this release switched to another Engine or Something but it's far more smoother compared to Complete Box.

  • Added handling for when there's a problem with save data during application startup's save data verification.
  • Modified "Blocking" to display an icon on target units.
  • Fixed a bug where weapon names were not displayed correctly when selecting support attacks.
  • Modified to display a warning message when overwriting main story save data with special episode save data....

Anyone know how to (If you can) run it outside the Root? Or what the bare minimum is? I like keeping my files organized and having a stray folder messes with me lol

Well as long as you don't make your directory address too long, I'd say the farthest would be C:\A\B\C\yourfolder, i stored this game in my documents folder so it should be something like: C:\Users\Idkism\Documents\Fantasy Maiden Wars v1.2.2. But don't make the string longer than this
 
Hey, i was wondering how am i supposed to open the game? do i just double click the one that says Fantasy Maiden Wars? bc that one does not open. And the one that says fmw_dosd just bring me to steam due to an error. Also how do you configure the JoyToKey thing?

Okay, first things first: Did you grab the latest update from the page? 1.2.2 fixes controller issues so workarounds like JoyToKey aren't needed.
If you did grab the latest file, extract it, and you'll find the "Fantasy Maiden Wars.exe" with a subdirectory of the same name, do NOT touch that and just run the exe, also make sure to look at the message above you if it doesn't open, you probably made the file address too long.
 
Thanks for the reply, It seems the problem was that the folder for the game was within a different folder of the same name and taking it out made the outer folder dissapear and it let me start the game. The controller still does not work, even though it seems the game is able to detect the fact that a controller is connected, but if anything i can atleast play it with keyboard. Thanks.
