Introducing them to the music and some gameplay is fantastic to warming them up to touhou as you've said. Considering the progress you have made they seem to have an impression that is slightly leaning more positively, which is good! If they enjoy touhou to not think negatively of you for having an interest in it, then it is possible that they would brush off the weirder side of the community if they know the fan content isn't canon. Fortunately if this were to happen then they would likely not think of it being a negative impact on you either in the same aspect! I'm sure they would know you aren't into this side of fan works. Of course, take it slow with introducing and don't pressure them too much.
