I finished Touhou 6 not too long ago and I was very happy :))) but then I saw the text "Bad ending" and I was very sad (((
is there any hidden Touhou tips and tricks that I must know?
Not sure if you saw the text saying to complete the game without using continues but in case yuo didn't see i will tell you, complete the game without continues to get the good ending.
As for the tips to be able to do so, well, idk what to say cuz im bad at the game too, but it's touhou 6 so i its normal to be terrible there, so i suggest playing the auto_bomb mod (this mod will deathbomb you automaticly so you will lose bombs instead of lifes, unless you're out of bombs), you can get it from thcrap, unless you dont wanna cheat
Hey, at least you didn't get cock-blocked by Sakuya for playing on easy mode. EoSD is a game that's very heavy on the 'random bullets flying everywhere' patterns, so building good reaction speed is going to help you immensely in getting a one-credit clear. You'll naturally improve with time and practice, so don't be discouraged if you're not doing well at the current moment. Other smaller tips include:
Bomb any time you remotely think you're going to get hit. They're a use-or-lose resources, so using a single bomb on something you would've cleared is better than losing three bombs because you got hit by something you though you could dodge.
Learn to anticipate incoming bullets by moving your attention to the middle of the playing field instead of focusing on your character. Doing so will give you the extra split seconds you need to quickly find a path through walls of bullets, especially on the random patterns. You should only do this when your character is not immediately surrounded by bullets, and practicing will give you a better idea of where your attention should be at in the current situation.
I strongly recommend thprac, which is a practice tool that allows you to skip to specific portions of stages or boss fights. So, if there's a particular section giving you a hard time, you can isolate it and master the patterns before you continue on. To use it on EoSD, you'll have to place thprac inside the EoSD folder and use a locale emulator to open it in Japanese, as the game doesn't play nice on native windows.
Only tip I remember that isn't mentioned on the last responses not to do any big crazy movements, since it can get you killed. Try to do tiny micro movements to make it a little easier. Now this is easier said than done because if I remember correctly, you can't see your hitbox while focused in 6.
