Online Guide:​

Because this game is P2P (Peer-to-Peer), online connectivity is pretty straightforward. You'll always need a VLAN service, so i recommend Zerotier or Radmin. Radmin has been tested for this game so if you want the least hassles choose that.​

So, prerequisites are to download the game from this page, get your VLAN service up and running. After that:

I quite love this game! Despite it being still in the early stages of development, it's still very good and not to mention interesting. Probably the first war strategy game I've ever played. I also typically don't like simplistic artstyles, but I love the artstyle of this game (mainly because of it reminding me of Monument Valley). I'm really looking forward to seeing how this game looks in the future development!
 
Awesome to see this, Battle of Polytopia was always a fun game to play during my younger days. Hoping we get to see an empire with Yuyuko, Youmu, and the Yakumo family as their hero units.

Probably a good idea to wait for the Hakurei Empire update to drop, which will supposedly be by the beginning of next month. All that the current version has is bug fixes and buffs/nerfs to certain heroes.

Yeah. I was thinking that they're probably waiting for the next major update.
Btw, I think it's pretty cool how the Hakurei Empire is based on the vikings. Well, I find a lot of the different character empires to be based on different real-world countries and civilizations to be pretty interesting. That's the main reason I got interested in this game in the first place.

SAIGYOUJI EMPIRE CONFIRMED FOR THE FUTURE! Someone on a Korean Touhou Forum went digging through the game's files and found a bunch of .mp3s that give away the remaining civilizations in the game:
  • Scarlet Empire - Egypt
  • Houraisan Empire - France
  • Moriya Empire - Germany
  • Komeji Empire - India
  • Hakurei Empire - Norway (changed to Viking in update)
  • Hijiri Empire - United Kingdom
  • Toyosatomimi Empire - Persia
  • Nippaku Empire - Byzantine
  • Saigyouji Empire - Sumeria
  • Chirizuka Empire - Incan
  • Hinanawi Empire - Aztec
  • Kijin Empire - Mongolia
  • Watatsuki Empire - Cambodia (Khmer in files)
  • Lapislazuli Empire - Mayan
  • Cirno Empire - Greece
  • Lizunamaru Empire - Mali
Those last two are confirmed to be paid DLC down the line, not sure which of the others will be DLC or playable in the base game. The team's really got their work cut out for them with 16 different teams and 80 heroes to design, but I've got faith in them.

Extremely impressive considering how supposedly only two people are working on all of this. This'll probably be one of the best Touhou fangames later down the line, if not already, as long as they keep up the same quality.
I already knew that the Hakurei and Hijiri empires were based on the Vikings and England respectively (as I already encountered them when messing around with a setting to have a large amount of other empires on the map), but despite me encountering the Toyosatomimi empire, I didn't know they were based on Persia.

Yeah, and Satori doesn't look Indian. Hell, most these girls should at least be tanned with the amount of sun these regions have, but it's a style choice. Getting pedantic about skin color with fictional video game characters is the last thing this thread needs.

You can explain Satori's whiteness with the whole Aryan-Scythian thing. But they gave the SDM crew tans. I don't want to bitch about touhou girls' skin colour, just why Megumu is like that if she's the queen of Mali.

Mongolia is one of the countries whose history I find interest in, so it's pretty cool to me too! Also, I guess you're the first Mongolian I've met then. Wow. Touhou truly is a worldwide phenomenon...
 
They added a beta public test version. It adds replay playback feature, map seeds, changed moriya empire starting unit to tengu cavalry and irrigation projects get 5 gold more expensive each number built and few other stuffs and bug fixes. Although map generation is a bit broken in this build
