  1. I noticed the downloads for the PC-98 games come with .ico files. Is there any way to make a shortcut that will run Neko Project II with the proper file in the IDE slot? Right now, I can run NP2 using the shortcut I created to the file location, but I still have to manually change the IDE slot and reset, and I was wondering if there was a way to do that automatically upon running. Hardly a big deal but it would be really nice.
  2. Final Update: If you want a perfect download, go to Control Panel -> Clock and Region -> Region -> Administrative and change "Language for non-Unicode programs" to Japanese. Not only will you not have any garbled characters downloading from the Internet, but you will be able to unzip files with Japanese characters in the file name without issues. You also will no longer need a locale emulator. Be aware that this may have unintentional side effects with older games, though perhaps not major. This has drastically improved the game's performance and rectified the minor issues the English patch had solved as well. I would recommend doing this process and redownloading Danmakufu. You'll still need to set it to 32-bit.
  3. Update: English patch seems to fix some minor issues. Also, make sure to set the program to run in 32-bit in the config.exe file if you're running on... well, basically anything. It's the second option from the bottom on the left side of the GUI.
  4. For those suffering issues running the game, there's nothing wrong with Danmakufu 0.12m. What you will need to do is run the engine in a Japanese locale, allowing Danmakufu to properly display Japanese characters and avoid crashing. You can download it here. AppLocale for older versions of Windows will also work. A fair warning, Danmakufu and Windows 10 are not friends, and you may suffer some performance dips and abnormal load times. I hope this helps!
