  1. Yo, is that Patchouli Knowledge from Touhou Project? Making Touhou arranges? Anyway, I'm not sure if this could be called "ZUN-style", but it certainly has ZUNpet in it.
  2. I'm certainly on the same page of not knowing who's doing it lol. The one I hosted was only the one before the most recent, so I still don't really want to go again. If no one else wants to, we could ask Jssf if he'll do the next one, seeing as he's the "normal" host. As for the question of when... I'm personally not in a rush for the next one myself, seeing as we've done quite a number of these by now. The translation status of th17.5 is also a contributor to this feeling. But I agree that it is starting to feel like it could be time for one. If we were to start one right now, I'd ask that we exclude songs from Touhou 17.5; hopefully that doesn't get in the way of much, as I understand that that game didn't add many original songs, as is often the case with Tasofro spinoffs.
  3. I need to make a post about something I discovered yesterday. Not many people remix Monster Hunter Music. In fact, a number of MH remixes come from Capcom themselves. And yesterday is when I learned about the Monster Hunter 10th Anniversary album released by them. This album finally satisfies my yearning for Monster Hunter remixes of the quality I would expect from Touhou doujin circles, and does a number of other things to put my mind to rest: 1: This album proves my point that yes, Monster Hunter does have incredible potential for arrangements. There just needs to be people making them! 2: This album finally gives me a point of reference for what MH music in smash could sound like. 3: This existence of this album is satisfactory enough to fill the void left by the lack of the above two things. And boy, what a diverse and amazing album it is. I can't just choose a favourite track to feature, I need to post a bunch of them, because they're all so good. Also, link to the full playlist here. EDIT: It's actually two different albums of 10 songs each, both released for the 10th anniversary. The first 10 songs in the playlist are from the "Self Cover" album, remixes by the original composers, and the following 10 are from the "Tribute" album, remixes by video game composers from other companies / series. While the tracks in these albums are more than enough to satisfy me, it does also make me a little sad that Capcom may never release something like this again. I can only cross my fingers for 2024...
  4. I'm back for another monthly posting of songs. This time, I was actually able to narrow down to a small number of them to feature. BTW, I might be a bit disengaged from Touhou for the time being while I await the 17.5 translation patch. iirc Touhou 18 actually got translated really quickly so I might not have too long to wait, but then again, Tasofro games have been known to be difficult to actually get working with the patching program.
  5. ummm... what? Yeah I think I can confidently say that's mistranslated. I'm not sure where "Chinese" comes from, because there isn't any trace of that word in the original kanji title, which surprisingly is something I can tell just by looking at it. The kanji 華 means flower. Whether the saying "Flowery language" has a meaning in Japanese like it does in English, I don't know, so I can't say for sure what the translation is. But what's written literally is something like "Flower words".
  6. Futo hat Futo hat I think Kasen's Chinese buns are also pretty cool
  7. It's time for this month's roundup. And I have way too much I want to post! There are actually some songs in here which I would've liked to give their own posts when I found them, so I'll do those first. Guess this is a reminder to self that I still ought to do regular posts sometimes. And now, onto the other stuff, which is simply a list of very high quality vocal songs, mostly (but not all) falling into the 'rock' category.
  8. This month's roundup is a collection of metal and rock things.
  9. If I remember correctly, I think the version of Touhou 1's soundtrack featured in Touhou 5's music room is indeed a remastered version. Not sure if this applies for the other games featured in Touhou 5's music room.
  10. I've started making a habit of making a record of the songs I listen to each month. As such, it might start becoming routine for me to post on a monthly basis, as it's a good opportunity to go over what some of my discoveries were and cherry pick some ones to share here. We'll see how consistent I end up being with this.
  11. Monster Hunter Rise soundtrack showcase Part 4/4: Wait, it's not Japanese?
  12. Monster Hunter Rise soundtrack showcase Part 3/4: The Chase
  13. I've been listening to some Touhou 18 remixes from Chocolate Fantasy recently, a Eurobeat circle who are new to me. I was going to share their song MINING & EATING, but I've also been catching up on the posts in this thread from when Unconnected Marketeers released and found that Ken has already shared it, so instead I'm gonna share this Kitten of Great Fortune remix from them that's become my latest addiction. I imagine we're going to start seeing a lot more touhou 18 arranges when Autumn Reitaisai comes, as that's the next big event where doujin circles will be selling new releases. Looking forward to hopefully hearing some Eurobeat of Ore from the Age of the Gods.
  14. Monster Hunter Rise soundtrack showcase Part 2/4: Monster Hunting
  15. Nice stuff. Although, it appears you've pasted in everything twice lol, you may want to fix that. By the way, I did some researching for you and found that the MHGen Arena theme is called "Draped in Valor". And regarding the difference between MHGen and MHGU, the latter is basically considered an expansion to the base game. You could make the distinction to point out which songs came from the base game and which one game from Generations Ultimate, but I don't think anyone will really mind it, seeing as you bundled in the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne themes under Monster Hunter World anyway. You've also used some of the Japanese names for the monsters in some titles, but again I don't think it matters much.
  16. I'm back from my hiatus! Time for something that is long overdue. Yup, It's time for that Monster Hunter Rise OST showcase. I'm going to be going over this in a few different parts highlighting some of the different kinds of tracks used in the game, but to start with I'm going back to my first experience of the game with the demo, using some of the songs that were in it to give a taste of the soundtrack as a whole. Part 1/4: Introduction
  17. You absolute legends. Thank you guys. Hopefully I won't be needing to ask about any other videos like this in the future, but it could happen.
  18. @Ken Hisuag The last song from this post is now deleted, and despite my sleuthing around, I haven't been able to deduce what it was. Can you remember? If anyone remembers / has a way to know what it was, I'd be grateful.
  19. Heya, I feel I haven't really been that active recently. That's mostly because busy-ness. But anyway, I'm still around and stuff, even if I'm not posting much right now. Here, have a music.
  20. I'm not playing it yet; I'm waiting until the english patch is done. And I'm kinda busy right now anyway lol.
  21. We're reviving this thread eh? Might as well jump on in. As some who have seen my posts in the other game music thread will know, I like Monster Hunter. I started with MH Generations on the 3DS, and although I haven't actually played many games in the series - I even skipped out on World - Generations' gimmick of bringing back references to several things from the series' history, including as many monsters and locations as possible, has given me a big appreciation for the previous games. Currently playing both Monster Hunter Rise and Generations Ultimate. Other than that idk what else to say about it really. Big monster go brrrr and big sword made of big monster also go brrrr. I don't want to make a big list of stuff I've played and like but other games I've been into relatively recently (as in, the past year sort of) include the Ori games, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Rivals of Aether. I'm a fan of some classic 2D Sonic as well.
