For our purposes, we want to play Touhou 12.3 with every character unlocked. Now, the score file for Touhou 10.5 is not required, only a score file is needed for Touhou 12.3. Save data is stored in the Touhou 12.3 game folder as "score123.dat", so to have fully unlocked game, simply replace the file with a completed one. Here is an Internet Archive item featuring completed save files for ever Touhou Windows game.

I see that everyone else has posted long video essays in this thread, so how about I post a video that is more simpler and shorter. Presenting, a 2012 recording of a social dance event where DDRKirby(ISQ)'s remix of Lullaby of Deserted Hell, Lullaby of Flame, was played as the accompaniment music. I don't know a thing about dancing, but I can appreciate the circling movement of people as they dance in pairs. It is a bit of a hypnotic mood to see people move so wonderfully and organized without any commands or chaotic factors in the mist. I guess I was so used to seeing everything have a plan, that I forget that humanity could act out for plain fun only. In fact, I should apply that principle of enjoying without fearing the consequences more with my interactions with Touhou. Speaking of Touhou, this video made me wonder what sort of physical movements could a Touhou fan do to show they are definitely into Touhou? While I am sure there are many movements that could be copied from Touhou music videos, I'm thinking of more about the movements that could be done on the spot, without prior training, like Marisa's handling of the mini-hakkero and Chimata's dollar sign pose. It be nice to say Touhou to other people in a more sneaky fashion that both affirms the passion for Touhou, yet isn't bothersome to be done out in the open. One last thing, the social dance video made me realize something odd about the Human Village in Gensokyo. Why haven't we seen the anyone from the Human Village practice a type of art? People love Kokoro's dances, so why don't we see troupe try to mimic her routines to recreate and improve upon the art of dance? Alice's puppet shows are a hit with the children of the village, so why can't a person make a handpuppet show inspired by the seven color puppeteer? With the pull the Prismrivers pull with their concerts, why haven't we seen a small music circle practice out at daylight at daylight to remind one of a festive village? It this sort of thing that brothers me, how the Human village is more interested in consuming "media" from youkai, yet we don't see much attempt from the Human Village to recreate what they loved, and ultimately make original from. Of course, it could be intended by ZUN and the sages of Gensokyo to make the Human Village appear culturally dead and more comparable to "youkai cattle", but I really doubt any youkai has the influence to take away the ability to mimic, learn, and create art from humanity. Perhaps it be worth writing more about how some parts of the Human Village are practicing an art to add some flavor to the world of Touhou. It certainly would be good to know that the Human Village can have the same enjoyment as Youkai Mountain did with their White Water Rafting tournament. If the Youkai Mountain can host tournament on a sport despite how flying makes boating down the water mostly pointless, then I am sure the Human Village can do the same with the arts.

Which version of the book cover you love most?
Pinky Cat replied to Guihong Wang's topic in Official Works
To be honest, all of these covers are basically the same to me. Each cover puts the logo and subtitles on the top, and leaves room for most of cover to focus on Marisa's aerial showmanship. But if had to say one comment between the covers, I note that the French version stylized the Touhou logo as "TouHou", which is a little strange, since while Touhou is written with two Japanese characters (東方), I don't believe the Touhou series has placed a strong meaning placed on the Japanese characters individually. Regardless, with the covers so similar to each other, I would suggest to buy the books based on the cheapest price. Through, there also the consideration on the quality of translation, through I am unfamiliar with any of these versions of Lotus Eaters, so I can't comment on translation quality. -
東方花火祭 (Touhou Kahosai) This game has a entry on the Touhou Wiki and THB Wiki, yet outside of the fact the game released back in 2009 for ComicDive 2 and was created by the group EFZClub, there not a lot of records online about what the game is, so I decided to do some digging. According to a 2009 Chinese forum post about this game, the way the description describes the game makes it likely 東方花火祭 it is a Touhou parody of Meteos, a well-regarded matching puzzle battler game released on the Nintendo DS. As for the group, EFZClub, it appears this was a Chinese group active from 2005 - 2011, which was involved in ACG culture with a forum that discussed on topics of games, light novels, doujin, etc. There is a subforum for 東方花火祭, but unfortunately Internet Archive was unable to archive the forum posts themselves, and forum titles aren't very helpful in figuring more information about this game. Aside from that, KyoriAsh was involved in both the EFZClub forums and Touhou Wiki, being the user who created the Touhou Wiki entry for 東方花火祭 in the first place.

I'm no translator of Japanese to English, but I can point to one existing translator who specializes in Touhou fangames, HakanaiBlue. Additionally, the Touhou Wiki contains a page on Spell Cards features English translations side by side to the Japanese titles if you need some pointer on how spellcards are translated to English.

I have discovered the work the title of this Youtube video is referencing after I looked back on the earliest issues of Bunbunmaru Extra. Gensokyo TV is a short manga by Fenrizero & Habrock Starling that had three chapters published across BBEX #2 and BBEX #3, and indeed, the first chapter is about Touhoupardy.

i swag on a bag & i got that McDonalds Genre: Comedy Length: 13 Pages Release Date: April 29, 2023 (TouhouFest 2023) Language: English By: @viceseight (dicevires) Book Source: Tumblr =========================== Unlike her stints as president of the United States or as fast food employee of Burger King, this Miko is taking the responsible job of parenthood. It seems no matter where Miko goes, she finds a way to spin it to her advantage. The humor is a bit dated from being strangely focused on the latest trends, though the author has admitted that the book had to be rushed for TouhouFest 2023, with the writing taking a hit as a result. Still, getting a book printed for a Touhou convention in the United States is certainly notable considering how few physical releases occur for Touhou books within the United States. Though, it seems that TouhouFest has impacted Touhou book publishing, with 2024 having a release with Forsaken Doll's Judgment and 2025 having an upcoming release with a novella about Sumireko. It is defiantly clear with the amount of physical book releases at TouhouFest that providing a physical space for Touhou fans has allowed for new ways for Touhou fans to distribute and interact with their works.

Ichirin Goes to Burger King Genre: Shitpost Comedy Visual Novel Length: ~20 Minutes Release Date: March 7, 2022 Language: English By: GV Productions Book Source: Itch.io =========================== The humor is as expected as much as Ichirin’s orders at were at Miko. But seriously, I laughed at the visual novel with how the Touhou characters were adapted to fit with the Burger King setting and all that entails within fast food restaurants. Add in some references to memes about fast food and that humor is kept fresh for the visual novel’s short length. Before I close out my order, the visual novel’s soundtrack provided by Uchulups, deserves a good listening, especially for the track on Ichirin’s theme. It has some neo-city vibes that feels calming to listen to.

Update on 月刊ナイトバグ (Monthly Nightbug) and まんがイースタン I have decided to check on those axfc.net links again, and I have found most of the links are now able to download the files. Yep, a solution to download axfc.net is to wait, and then somehow the servers will be able to serve the files correctly? Anyway, the pdfs that I have been able to download have been archived on Internet Archive. IA: 月刊ナイトバグ (Monthly Nightbug) IA: まんがイースタン If you check out the Internet Archive links, you will also find which pdfs still need to be downloaded from axfc.net. As for the CORRUPTED notice for the last issue of 月刊ナイトバグ (May 2011), it appears that the corruption issue relates to axfc.net given that axfc.net gives a different MD5 hash on the online file info compared to the downloaded file. However, this is the first time I have encountered a file that is able to be downloaded from axfc.net that was corrupted, so hopefully this is an temporary issue.

Without having played the mod itself, or much of Minecraft for that matter, that sounds like a good chuck of content for a minor update. Good to know that v2.91 offers some form of changes. It seems you need to friend request him on a popular messaging app that is not Telegram. What app he is talking about is unknown to me, but I am sure asking for contact in the Youtube comment section should hopefully give a response.

Is there any patchnotes that might come with v2.91 that might enlighten on the differences this update did to the mod? I would hope it did more than bug fixes and server support. @themanwiththepan Comment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uebpGEAXNeQ On other news, I decided to check the comments of EP 02X and 24, and found Youtube user @themanwiththepan is claiming he has the lost episodes, at least of 02X, 24, 25. Though it seems their contact info is through a “messaging app that is not TG (Telegram).” I don’t have the patience test out messaging apps for the time being, so I leave this info for others to check into.

touhou project: year in review, 2024 (kind of)
Pinky Cat replied to koakumas's topic in All You Can Ask Buffet
1) What was the best thing from the community of this year? Cirno's Bomb-Tastic Adventure by yomogi_soft. Not only is it the best Touhou puzzle game to be released on mobile devices, but it also made me get out pen and paper to solve its puzzles. Let's just say that finding out factors of numbers was not what I expected out of a Cirno fangame. 2) What changed for you within the community throughout 2024? I started to interact more with the Touhou community, which that first step was creating a Moriya Shrine account to post information about a forgotten doujin circle called Distant Union. 3) What's your contributions to Touhou? It's research into Touhou, whatever it is on unused content for Touhou fangames, investigating into old Touhou fanbooks, discovering the world of Touhou mobile games, or simply looking online on different Touhou communities. Outside of that, I decided to write about the Touhou books I been collecting and reading over the years under the thread Touhou Reading Log. 4) Why have you stayed in Touhou until today? Touhou has so many connections to other works outside of the Touhou sphere. Frankly, I am surprised at times on how other creators have been influenced by Touhou in some form will go on to create something else entirely separate from Touhou that sparks a sense of appeal. 5) Last comments of 2024 Touhou before we move towards 2025 Touhou? I didn't get around to saying what my personal wish that the Touhou community could do more in that thread, so I say it here as my final comment: the Touhou community should continue to expand its international relations. Watching the broadcast for BBEX 17 has reminded me of how far Touhou has gone in terms of connecting with Touhou communities of different languages. If it continues that way, I have no doubt that Touhou will be in a fine place for the future. That all I have to say, so have a good new year! -
Quick end of the year updates. PigeonVoyageur has recently recorded an entire playthrough of こころ劇場 on their Youtube channel. I have done some investigation into this, and I have reason to believe version 2.93 does not exist, or at the very least developed by the original creator. Firstly, going through the original forum page for this mod has never shown any update past v2.90. The second reason is that searching up "thkaguyamod-1.7.10-2.91.jar", leads to a mod pack called Touhou Online ~ Master Spark!, which includes thkaguyamod as part of the mod pack. Due to these two reason, I believe that v2.93 is simply some sort of accident born out of including the mod in a modded server as the only mention on OpenEye for both v2.91 and v2.93 share the same file name, thkaguyamod. Sturm Novahl's Youtube Reply: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12HT9BDWgMQ&lc=Ugj9owQpNsUPIXgCoAEC.8CIQ6P0EvZ28CMPOVaW4qe It appears Nuclear Temmie is likely a recreation of Utsuho’s theme Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom with temmie sound effects. This video appears to have been created by Sturm Novahl according to a reply they made for a request to create Nuclear Temmie.

what do you want more of in the touhou community?
Pinky Cat replied to koakumas's topic in All You Can Ask Buffet
I think we could have more fanart that have a form of story behind them. By: はるのふるは The plants species depicted in this piece of art are all different extinct plant species where only an artist interested in both botany and Touhou could create this artwork. It's lovely visually and a joy to look into the plants that existed from millions of years ago. It is the type of artwork that wants me explore beyond what it is in front of me and discover new connections to Touhou itself. That the type of fanart I want to see more of. What aspect of Touhou do you reference by "majestic aspects"? Could it be the community's unity? The overlooked lore of Touhou's world? Is it the narrative themes of fanworks? There a lot aspects of Touhou I could describe as "grand". Regardless that wish for multiplayer Touhou games appears to be popular desire... I agree wholeheartedly for more multiplayer fangames, especially for the co-op style. Goodness, it would be cool to have couch play with other friends or to chat online on those games. It could even be a little convention event. Though, the only recourse for multiplayer games is to start developing games and bring that change. The Touhou Fan Game Jams exists to encourage the growth of game development within the Touhou community. Otherwise, perhaps a game jam theme could be multiplayer as that is a creative theme to springboard ideas from. In fact, I go list some pervious multiplayer Touhou games: Utsuru - Inkfection | an isometric version of Dead by Daylight. When I ran a multiplayer session of this game, I was a little spooked by how well a certain player used Reimu to control the behavior of the Youkai team. Touhou Diorama Duel | a 3D arena game where two players attempt to dodge danmaku shot from each other. The details within each of the stages adds a nice extra touch. ハクレイフリーマーケット (Hakurei Flea Market) | Two teams of three players attempt to place the most amount of items in their team's field. Of course, players can use special moves to stun players, or choose to steal items from the other team's field. Everything about this game screams chaos, just by looking at the Youtube video for this game. Even more crazily, this game had online multiplayer until it shut down in 2024. Still, the local multiplayer works perfectly fine, so this game can still be played wireless by Parsec. The three games mentioned all have a degree of writing within them, but each of them focuses on a specific character. That reminds me of The Little Rabbit Princess and the House of Eternity and DUET, both story-based Touhou games that focuses on Kotohime and Renko respectfully, each successful at creating character arcs for each of them. It be nice to have more story-based Touhou games regardless of if it is a visual novel, a walking simulator, a CYOA, a D&D campaign, or even a silent interactive novel. ================== Is it greedy to want more fighting games when there are characters like Wriggle or Narumi that have never gotten a fighting game appearance? Giving them a full fighting game moveset could give them the chance to shine. I believe there is still more idea space within the Touhou fighting game genre to move towards. We are getting a Touhou Super Smash Bros. game with Fractured Transience after all. Are you referring to the Moriya Shrine Forum community, or are referring to the Touhou community as a whole? If it is the latter, I must disagree with the statement the Touhou community has been in an loop doing the same things for years. To backup my statement, I like to mention a little historic tidbit. Before the start of the collaborative fangame of NitorInc., seeing non-danmaku Touhou fangames by the Western Touhou community was extremely rare to find. To name a few of the fangames with the likes of Story of a Lost Sky, Deep Sea Dating, Dai-Sukima Dan's visual novels, and some Walfas fangames would be most Western Touhou fangames back before 2017. Nowadays, looking at both the Steam list of Touhou Curator and the game releases from the Touhou Fan Game Jams, it feels like the Touhou community has developed a subculture for Touhou fangame development. How about Star of Providence? It's neither danmaku or Touhou, but it I say it is best example of combing both roguelike elements with STGs thanks to its weapon system. The weapon system forces the player to adapt how they dodge the bullets as the weapons function quite differently to each other, and that the player is forced to swap between multiple weapons in a single playthrough. It makes for a neat limitation to force the player to look for brand new ways to dodge danmaku to maximize the damage, in a similar way to finding how out routes to make best use of Marisa's and Patchouli's shottype from SA. ================== The closest thing for a preexisting open-world Touhou game are the Touhou Minecraft servers. Those worlds have sights that are worth exploring by walking, subway, or even by a cable car lift. -
I only have one circle that I can say is definitely based in the US: Find Your Way. This circle has been active since 2013 releasing Touhou albums and their music is great as best as I can describe in my music-limited language. Though, there also Boston Touhou Gakudan, a defunct circle formed by Japanese students while they studied at the Berklee College of Music. It worth taking a listen to Sakura Nocturna, with lovely vocals for the first track and jazz for the rest of the album.
