There's a website ZUN made in 2001 to archive a bunch of SC-88Pro compositions/remixes. ZUN's Strange Works is an EP of original tracks from that page. At least, that's my understanding.

After ZUN got the series going again with Touhou 6, he decided to go back and remaster the music from the first five games and release them as music albums. Ironically, the "untouched scores" are the touched-up versions. More often than not, the difference between Akyu's and the original tracks is insignificant, but there are a few cases where ZUN made more notable changes ("Reincarnation" is a noteworthy example). See also the four versions of "the Legend of KAGE" (original, MS, Akyu's, and SC-88Pro).

@Kazuka Aimstinct That isn't a bad idea. Considering how many of these albums need updating/alternates, I think I'll start a topic to draw attention to it.

Lesson learned: Wait a while before downloading new soundtrack so as not to confuse myself with miss-labeled tracks until after they've been fixed.

Does anyone know where I can find a translation of ZUN's comments for the PMD releases? The Japanese transcripts are on the wiki, but I am unable to find reliable translations.

In Akyu's Untouched Scores, Shrine of the Wind is replaced with the infamous Theme of Eastern Story. It will be some time before my "content count" is high enough for me to contribute stuff here, and I can't remember where I found them, but I do have the original soundtrack files.

How do these files work? I can't open them or unpack them.

This isn't the actual OST for Highly Responsive to Prayers. I assume this is from Mystic Square's music room.
