Hmm I would have to say design wise it's komachi, her look just doesn't work for me Character wise, shou she gets shoved to the side by ichirin immediately and her quirk of "losing a pagoda" is not good imo. Which is a waste since she's bishamonten which should be a cool idea and relationship with Byakuren but instead she gets forgotten about

Wonder if your going to give akyuu glasses just so you can pull off the last man on earth episode. I just remembered the fact that of all things call of duty of all things referenced touhou

you know with how long touhou has been around, it's made me wonder like any other long running series that seeing a character from this series appear in another work is still pretty weird at times. so i thought i make this thread of all the weird crossovers and cameos that touhou has appeared in that i've seen, whether it be written works, youtubers, animations, anime and everything in between, if you want feel free to add your own suggestions to it i want to see some weird stuff. to start would be the very first instances of seeing a touhou character ever would be......yugioh of all thing and a ecchi manga about horny monster girls wanting some D but let me explain both sides and let you figure things out. see with the yugioh one, we have a yugituber named.....well Rata otherwise known as rank10ygo named after rank10 trains which are just trains that run people over or something in a childrens card game, that's insane.....why didn't digimon think of that. anyway jokes aside the specific video has him talk about the signer dragons from the anime "yugioh 5d's" or more specifically when he starts talking about a card called black rose dragon now here is where he talks about how when the card is summoned it nukes the field, leading to him comparing black rose......to at the time someone i did not know at the time but i would find out is a character by the name patchouli knowledge (it's also revealed he has the RARE HONG MEILING FUMO) . as for the monster girls, i already mentioned this in another thread (touhou fanservice) where i brought up these two pictures in the manga "Monsutā Musume no Iru Nichijō" otherwise known as "daily life with monster girls" we see various cosplayers dress up as touhou charcater, again as with the yugioh reference i didn't know who these were so i left it alone, although this shoutout got quickly overshadowed by the metal gear reference later in the chapter......well unless your into a harpy wearing a slime to look like okuu getting molested by said slime. eventually i found out about the franchise and over time got myself to fall in love with the characters like meiling, suika, junko and others, the world and i'm even trying to play the games inbetween my job and my youtube channel hobby, but that's the basic jist let's get down to some more examples i've seen over time Cirno News Network talks about bad apple is most likely the most well known but i might as well leave it here for completion sakes another more hilarious example of touhou showing up on the news is when......well just look at the picture never change suika. in the world of crossovers, currently the biggest ones is putting the remilia and yukari/satori in pokemon due to newest games being called pokemon scarlet and violet or even deeper a full on pokemon romhack where all the pokemon are replaced by touhou characters. maybe your a fan of dark souls and want to see something like that, well peter aix has that for you with his touhou souls videos where Hakurei Reimu fights ornstein and smough......but they are actually clownpiece and junko, or have her team up with remilia to fight the flandre watchers or........yuyuko using a swordfish as a weapon of mass destruction against a giant youmu (no i'm not kidding) so now i turn to you, the people of moriyashrine, what are some of the wackest, weirdest and insane times you seen touhou show up in any other media or a fun crossover you really liked, hope you get your responses

Honestly it does get a little ecchi (monster musume is a somewhat horny manga) a character named papi, a harpy proceeds to get groped by another character named suu who is a slime while cosplayed as okuu (suu is the costume since....well she can do stuff no other slime can). Which gets overshadowed by the fact that the manga also did a metal gear solid reference by having snek girl miia hide in a cardboard box ..while also dressed as snake. Yes this is a real thing, if you want I can provide proof

I know it's not difficult but I gotta bring Castlevania symphony of the night, the original Metroidvania title. Great fluid gameplay, a amazing soundtrack.....dumb dialogue (hey it was 97 we didn't have good voice acting yet) and the weapons, so many weapons each with small differences that you need a keen eye to notice. Only problem is that well it's easy but the core gameplay elevates a easy game far beyond anything else

And here's another one showing reimu, Marisa, meiling and kasen wearing byakurens's outfit for some reason (also the previous picture also had yuugi)

Don't know if this counts, but in the manga monster musume, while hanging out with someone the main human kimihito, comes across a group of cosplayers looking very familiar, most notably a familiar looking bird

Her being a competent fighter is thrown completely out the window since the whole series resolves things through danmaku which meiling is most likely not good at hence why in the fighting games she the purest fighter in the game. I believe that grimoire might have mentioned that rumina does try to eat people, she's just horrible at it I legit picture suwako as a somewhat pessimistic goddess ready to die due to simply thinking everything must come to an end but also wanting kanako to let her do her thing so she ends up simply going with the flow....also she's quite possibly the only other character besides Junko to possibly have had sex so there is that She gets that from the fact her and all the other older looking characters stand somewhat out of place from all the young looking characters in gensokyo hence "the old maid club" Well no one knows how tall anyone is in touhou Okuu is more of a savant, smart in all thing nuclear, but dumb everywhere else To be fair, ZUN did admit that they will never appear in the games ever and a large portion of the fanbase labeled them Mary Sue's which didn't help (hence why they don't make a appearance in LOLK leaving the implication that the purified fairies, clownpiece or Junko destroyed them and was never shown) Aside from the fact her key character trait is that she's a kleptomaniac, hit the nail on the head She's a drunk ass oni who's always but also possibly on yukari levels of info gathering is she so wishes. Similar to Marisa her being happy to drink and be happy is canon but since she's based off the figure who not only leads the deva's but also becomes the ruler of oni, we might not have suika's story told yet It's already established that tewi does go after reisen, but then again I'm pretty sure tewi goes after everyone and she's eirin's assistant so her having to test her products make a bit of sense My favorite version of momiji is from "being meiling" where she's shown to not only be the chief of security for the isolationist tengu clans but also Aya's parole officer (in the story Aya was shunned and thrown out by the tengu clans because she was getting support to get rid of the tengu caste system/ get rid of their isolationist ideals to allow commerce and trade. Getting thrown out she went straight feral from the isolation and created the bunbunmaru news as a way to keep sane and try to integrate into some kind of society....which leads her into conflict with meiling when she shows to start having a very unhealthy obsession with cirno) Sorry for the long list but I wanted to put my thoughts on here

Well you said fan service and the story that starts with meiling finally foiling Marisa from getting into the SDM and has to deal with all sorts of shenanigans is bound to be filled with harmless fan service.

Hey I happen to be a fan of Junko wanting to feed reisen the carrot or be her mom, I think it's cute imo And to be fair with hecatia, would you expect a goddess of hell to dress like she shops at hot topic. And it's better than what he said about mokou

I mean I read a lot of fanfiction and I remember reading one called "being meiling" the story is a big pile of fun fanservice for touhou fans, especially fans of our favorite gatekeeper, the story also had robo wars fanservice when cirno through strength of will made a functional robot.......out of ice.....and she goes to save the day and also beat up the inferior nitori and her robots I read way to much stuff

But minor looking adults do exist, sure in certain cases it's wrong because they are kids but there are always those grey areas out there that one should always simply account for
