And that's kind of the point, right? If we took our ratings too seriously, this wouldn't be as fun. There important to quantify the experiences, but it's the reasoning behind them that make it worth doing. Yeah, glad to hear people saying that because that's exactly the way it should be taken! Gonna thank everyone for participating once again, and thanks to Jssf for hosting and number crunching. There were a lot of really interesting pieces this time around which were a lot of fun to experience. Although I didn't originally rate it high, there always seems to be that one p4 points

Alright, I've been wanting to have community events, both here and on the Discord. Most of the normal members probably know me most for hosting the Remix Tournaments, and older members and staff probably know me best for how much I've pushed for community events over the years. In following with that, I'm hoping to try to do more in future, and with more variety so that more members and members with different interests would join in and enjoy getting more involved with the community. So, this thread is set up for further discussion of ideas, to both give ideas and respond to ideas g3 points

Yeah I guess Namazu would be the only biological giant person (so discluding Hisotensoku since that might be too mechanical for the game's themeing), unless you have a giant Suika or Sukuna with the miracle mallet. There's also the fangame Touhou Kobuto V which opted for a giant yukkuri Reimu head. But I personally think if anyone else were to be added, after Namazu, Genji would be a cool fit. In terms of Touhou crossovers, one with Cave Story would be cool. Obviously, it'd have to be with Subterranean Animism since that fits the most. Here's some pixel art someone made that's rea3 points

I'm really surprised that worked! DF's reviews of The Way Home and Time Passes in the Field had me heavily doubting them as his picks, despite my initial assumptions. It eventually came down to The Way Home, and between Busker's and DF's respective reviews I went with the most believable option. This was definitely harder than last tournament. I feel like I already "knew" this, but the clear statement will certainly help in future. I've given a brief explanation of my submission strategy previously, but for what it's worth: I separate out discoveries that impress me in some3 points

I'm alive! Okay, first thing's first. My default rating is seven; anything more is above average, between five and six is okay-but-with-conditions, and anything less is reserved for pieces I didn't enjoy. I want to reserve my tens for things I'm really impressed with, otherwise they lose their impact. That being said, come end of a tournament I tend to look back and regard my ratings as overly cautious, especially in the first round. In my opinion, a good tournament should be in the "5-7 range;" anything lower would be unexpected for this group, and anything higher should reflect3 points

Welp, here goes my guesses. I haven’t looked at anyone’s reveals, besides Drunken and Buskerdog’s comments. I’m assuming Jssf already revealed their choices, so I ignored them here. Let’s see how accurate I am! Green = 100% confirmed Blue 75% Estimation Yellow = 50% Estimation Red = Random Guess Garrrison https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8ItXsCo3rY Concealed Four Seasons = That’s right, this was me! Last time Buskerdog revealed “The door was me” in choosing Okina’s song, so I chose one to mix things up. Actually, everything I said about having this so3 points

Hmmm. For me, I base it more on "how enjoyable was this overall" rather than weighing good and bad parts. So for me, a 5/10 means "average enjoyment". That still means I liked it. It just doesn't mean I liked it significantly more than the average of what I've heard across Touhou remixes. The way I see it, there's so much quality stuff in the Touhou community that if I rated similarly to what you posted, I'd hardly ever drop below the halfway point of my scale - and then what's the point of having a 10-point scale? Basically, I think in terms of "how good is this" rather than "is this good".3 points

@Ken Hisuag This... is not the first time you've posted music from ssbbmaster... correct? I'm sure I've come across them before, yet I don't remember ever exploring their channel, so I can only think that it must have been because you posted their music here before. Anyway, what's my point? Thank you for posting this one. Not only is that arrangement amazing, but through the intrigue of the recommended videos that appear at the end, I have now ventured into the rabbit hole and started exploring their videos (I hadn't even realised that they made the arrangements themself!), and found not only2 points

Great arrangement of quality metal with the contextual acoustic intro and outro re-enforcing its impact. Wish the instrumental track was on Youtube. Ironically, also from that album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxjiCCnALEw Feels like I haven't posted much orchestra for a bit, so now seems as good a time as any.2 points

I really like that Crest piece; I'm surprised I don't come across more swing rock, whatever genre that may be considered part of. I'm still not up for sceam-vocals, though. Your Valentine's Day comment made me think of a piece I found the day before. There's been a "new" channel reposting a bunch of stuff from an older account (at least I think that's what happened), so I've been getting a bunch of their posts in the daily feed. This particular arrangement seems fitting, if a bit more upbeat than normal.2 points

Isn't this @movexig?, a quick search gave me that pixel joint, hasn't been active since 2015 on twitter, don't know much else I would like to see a Touhou themed Xenoblade Chronicles X Nitori could make the mechs2 points

I suppose I probably should as well lol, I own the joint afterall. Anyways i'm a HUGE denpa fan, so i'm going to share the first denpa song I was ever exposed to This song holds pretty special value to me as it introduced me to my favorite genre and some of my favorite artists as this was a duet between momobako and nanahira, both amazing denpa artists.2 points

Hey folks, Kona from 09th expansion here, bringing you an update on the game. I've been working on the code and the writing, I've also been using the "Ryukishi07" method of making VN backgrounds, where I just take images and apply very strong filters to them(examples included.) We decided we're gonna use this spriteset made by an alphes-clone artist, (linked here)https://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=18158.0 . I've also been polishing the earlier parts of the game. I would like to make a custom U.I. like they used for "In Miko We Trust" for example, but I don't know any2 points

When I try to download Touhou 10 it docent even download for me. It says finished download after the 60 second countdown and google chrome does not even pop up the download file so I can access it and move it and extract it. Help2 points

Hmm, we got a couple things here I'll have to remember to comment on at the end, but for now, Round Four! First, METAL. Kind of. Reincarnation but Metal: Second, a vocal arrangement of Tomorrow will be Special: Third, an electronic mix of World of Fantasy:2 points

This thread seems dead but lemme try... Seija turns the screen Flandre's a smol bean If Reimu doesn't get in Smash Sakurai's gonna get bashed (Doesn't make sense but it's hard to come up with rhymes)1 point

If a Touhou character came to Smash Bros, what would be their special moves and their Final Smash in your opinion? (Just doing this for fun) I would think of Reimu Hakurei... Neutral Special: Reimu throws a simple ticket (or whatever it's called) Side Special: Reimu blasts Yin-Yang orbs depending on which direction she is facing Up Special: Reimu charges and flies into the air, if still in the air, she can float until she gets to the floor Down Special: Reimu emits an aura which can be used for counterattacking Final Smash: 'Spirit Sign "Fantasy Seal"' is used; throws large co1 point

Festival Blaze was one of the first GET IN THE RING arrangements I found (this exact video, actually), and it did a good job at catching my attention and keeping me on the lookout for more; maybe it's just me, but imaginative Broken Moon arrangements seem difficult to come by. I posted Over the Rainbow here back around Christmas time as a piano-focused arrangement; it certainly stands out from the circle's typical projects, and showcases the diversity of skillset they have. Rebirth, on the other hand, is a new one to me. Another thing I love about this circle is their approach to medleys,1 point

2:20:32 Ayyyy nice, Marisa ze. Didn't think you'd make your own sprites, but the artstyle does look similar to what you've posted on the Doodles Thread. Now your line of "I'm inspired by the recent Rivals mods that came out" makes sense considering they were also in this style (Yuuto OC, Reimu, Mystia). I remember there was another Rivals sized Marisa, but that was more like the Hisotensoku sprites shrunken down. Seems like she also have a new moveset with the mushrooms she spawns in and green projectile. So I'm looking forward to seeing how she plays!1 point

wait what really? that Invite panel is relatively new, not even a year or so maybe maybe, if i recall correctly, maybe replacing a small simple invite panel before it FYI in the beginning there's just a WidgetBot on the bottom left of the screen which pop up messages everytime someone sent a message on the #general chat, you can imagine how many notification show up. then it get deleted in few weeks.1 point

You are right to be afraid, and I respect your restraint. Time for that GET IN THE RING I've been holding back on! I wouldn't say these are my favorites (they might be up there), but I think they're a good representation of the circle's work.1 point

The unpatched game downloads are back now. They're the same ones we've had previously with the exception of 15.5, as that one now also includes a folder with the current beta version1 point

Okay, this time for good. No worries! Not all mysteries have to have exciting reveals; besides, even if you didn't orchestrate it as such, you have to admit that the presentation was ideal for this tournament. Never change, Garison. I just thought your post was funny . . . uh I mean HAHAH! YOU HAD FALLEN FOR MY TRAP! That's fine, I appreciate you checking. Now why ya gotta call us out like that? Honestly, I think it's just us getting more comfortable with the tournament event, and thus being willing to express more detailed explanations of our subjec1 point

Wow, ok. Surprisingly spot on! I’m especially impressed by your use of the spoiler tags, I completely forgot about them in my guess XD Though, to keep them spoiler-esque, I’ll just copy and paste the quotes instead of using the site’s multi-quote, since I’ll be quoting a lot. Plus, I type this in a Word Document so… here we go! Ken Hisuag: “I have to go with the assumption that you're intentionally encrypting your reviews” Definitely the correct assumpt-… well confirmation now lol. I like to go with variety to mix things up, but I guess since everyone else has their own distinct genres1 point

OOHHHHHH ok. When I was looking on your profile, that part was actually cropped out from the banner, so I didn't notice that 'till now XD I thought it was just a regular city. Ah whoops, I assumed Ken was the one who did the Surfer pick. When searching on the site, usually the results from the most recent Remix Tournament floods out the results from the previous ones, so I find it harder to look back on them. Nevertheless a solid 2 out of 3 for mine (tho only because Jssf revealed his and gave me and extra 1 lol) Ah yeah, I typed that whole post in a Word Do1 point

sadness all those Among Us play kinda worth it less sadness.. my play still standing quite strong 75% 75% 50%, that's 66.6% average good enough "The art is drawn realistically" bruh.. i said before aint rate the music cause the images. that's for whole another realm. and Jssf got nose, Busker also got a bit of nose, Ken... not even a face smh. but if you wanna know what i think of it, from technical view, IT'S GREAT!!! from my feels... Had an oversight with the english patches. Files should now work as intended, hopefully. If you happened to download one of the games between last changelog and this one, chances are it doesn't work and you might want to download it again now. Sorry for the inconvenience1 point

1. Alternative Rock just like post-rock in most cases goes just ignored by me but since it's tournament, at least vocal is half decent but i prefer one from third song, well i just can't say much about this song and 1 thing i certainly wouldn't say is i like it but that's just me 5/10 3. when i see word rap i can only think about my native language rap songs which i just pretty hate, on other hand it's GET IN THE RING and it's pretty nice i like mixed male and female vocal (just as much as duo female vocals which i can mostly remember from some Yonder Voice songs) it's also typ1 point

1: ngl but im having hard time with this one since eurobeat it not really my stuff, first of all, the vocal is amazing no complaint about that. i just not fond of the instruments. especially the kicks, it sound muffled. dunno but aint hate nor love this, more like if this managed to play in my shuffle, aint skipping. 7/10 2: holyshit this hella different from previous what song this about??? June, Hydrangea, Courage Test?? the video description messed up. 0:00, yes this a march indeed, the song title is June though... and everyone ask what's Koishi doin in here. probably ha1 point

By the way, I added support for another custom stage! This one is the MT. Dedede Stadium, for no particular reason other than I wanted to give the characters background titles similar to what appears on Little Mac's stage in Super Smash Bros. Of course, the characters already have several familiar titles, but as the Boxing Ring stage in Smash generally uses titles that are a bit more unique, I wanted to give them something new. These titles do still all have origins, though.1 point

Wow, I really like those drawings, you have a very cute art style! I wish I could draw eyes. My favourites are your Meiling and Marisa and by the way yes I do want to drink with Reimu. I happen to have some new sketches as well so I'll share those! Detective Marisa! (I used a lot of references for this one. This is technically unfinished actually, there are a couple more details I wanted to add but I forgot to do before taking the picture. I still haven't done them...)
