  3. Hi, I get this error every time I try to download. If you can fix this, please do so at your own pace. <Error> <Code>AccessDenied</Code> <BucketName>moriya-shrine</BucketName> <RequestId>tx00000000000001a8d5220-0062ada00b-18c98378-nyc3a</RequestId> <HostId>18c98378-nyc3a-nyc</HostId> </Error>

  5. I have a fix for the error with the first FOE achievement. 1. Open game.exe with a hex editor 2. Search for E8 48 24 FC FF 3. Replace it with 90 90 90 90 90 4. Save This might cause some issues so I recommend backing up the original .exe along with the save files.

  6. Hope I'm not too late, but for all who couldn't get it to work, I made a step-by-step guide. It looks quite long, but this process shouldn't be too time consuming. I'm also up for giving you my "fixed" game to see if that works, or make a video guide. [Start] Download the CtC from moriya shrine. Extract Run the game and press all. The game should crash because of the other scripts included. [Cleaning up] Go to the "script" "Len_05" is causing the crash. Delete (or move if you can fix it?) "Len_05" from the folder (and all the other scripts so you don't have to select). --> "Genmu" crashes, "player4" doesn't show up (not a script most likely) and "img" is just an image. The game should not crash now (though it's still in hyperspeed). To fix that, we need the Vsync patch. -->Actually recommend at least trying the game like this (with english patch which will I will show later on), it's pretty fun even if it's crazy (challenge mode!). You can do this with EoSD too. Navigating the menu is of course pain tho. [Vsync Patch --> Won't work yet] Get the Vsync patch from: https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Game_Tools_and_Modifications#Vsync_Patches Search for it on the site Extract the download either in the game directory or elsewhere. Go in vpatch_rev4 in the download Copy "vpatch.exe", "vpatch.ini" and "vpatch_th_dnh.dll" Paste them in the game directory (Where the "th_dnh.exe" is and make sure it's named that way). Run "vpatch.exe" You'll get an gibberish error with "th_dnh.exe" and "UPX" That means you'll need to decompress the .exe file. [Decompressing] Go and get the program from the link (https://github.com/upx/upx/releases) or find your own. Or just download what I decompressed here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eLupoMLdYRbPXXI69CN-SFlx8nB4WJ44/view?usp=sharing [Optional] Check Phar's message here: https://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=1846.0 Click the link he sent about a conversation: http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=357.msg18764#msg18764 [UPX instructions] Extract the contents. Run UPX in command prompt. -->cd (directory) / Example: C:\Users\User\Desktop\Setup for CtC\upx-3.96-win64 --> upx.exe You'll see the instructions. (A friendly tip: Copy the exe file in an location with easier path for upx, cause the original folder for CtC has spaces, which are a pain) Decompress the .exe file. --> upx.exe -d [location of th_dnh.exe] / Example: upx.exe -d C:\Users\Kasper\Desktop\th_dnh.exe (Placed it in the desktop for a reason, check for spaces) The .exe file should have been decompressed successfully. You'll know cause it'll be larger, around 1.400-1.500 kb. Move the decompressed th_dnh.exe back to the game directory (or overwrite the original if you copied). Launch "vpatch.exe"(this is what you'll be using to launch from now on). The game should not run at hyperspeed now and you can finally play (Would recommend the english patch). - - - - [Changing locale (windows 10)] --> only if it doesn't work in your language, it does for me. Go to control panel. Go in "Clock and Region". Click "Region". Go to the "administrative" tab. Click "Change system locale" Choose japanese and restart your computer. [English patch] Get the patch from here: https://github.com/danmaq/touhou-ctc-danmakufu/releases / https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzXuiQtM784manVsd1Z2dVRYS00/view Extract it in a new folder and read the readme file. BEFORE YOU COPY! (you can just get the original back in the zip file if you did) Go in "script" --> "ctc" --> "DATA" Delete "THH.MENU.dat" --> It causes some very weird options in the menu, do mind it's still perfectly functional with it of course. After deleting, copy the "player" and "script" files into the game directory, and overwrite everything.

  7. A general guide on the game demo: You should set your locale to Japanese. The game opens in fullscreen (no windowed mode yet). Use arrow keys to move, Z/Enter to confirm, X/Backspace to cancel and Esc for Start. Aside from arrow keys, there are only 4 buttons in-game; Z/Enter to dash (referred to as Graze), X/Backspace to attack, C to bomb and Esc to Pause. There is no built-in gamepad detection so you'll need to rig it yourself. Be aware when using in-game binding that there are only 4 buttons: the equivalent buttons to ☐ is dash, ✕ is attack, ◯ is bomb and Pause is Esc. These are atypical controls so I do recommend customizing them. Currently only Reimu is playable, immediately enters a boss fight without any tutorial. You have 5 lives (only the first 3 of which can double as bombs), an oil percentage (which I'm still unsure as to exactly what it does) that is probably a debuff that fades over time, and a stamina meter (spent by dashing and attacking, regens quickly when on the ground doing neither). There is no jump button so your only means of upward movement are attacking and dashing in a direction. Attacking and dashing defenst against enemy danmaku but not their charge physical attacks. Holding a direction while attacking does change the attack (in midair it does shoot danmaku but only at a 45 degree angle downward). The Dash/Graze is charge-based. Reimu's bomb uses 1 of the first 3 lives and releases 8 orbs that deal 3 damage each but it can be cancelled by the enemy if they hit you before you cast it. Marisa and Kogasa have 2 phases, Yuugi has 3. If you do enough consecutive damage during their non-final spells you can knock them down for a bit. In-between retries, do not spam the attack button because that's the cancel command. And give it a few seconds before pressing confirm because the game can bug out if you go back in too quickly and/or if you make too many moves during the first spell. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following are opinions. Bombing's not worth it since it draws from the same resource as lives. You can only launch danmaku at a 45 degree angle in midair so it's also unreliable in exchange for draining stamina unnecessarily. Basically, danmaku is currently useless and melee is the way to go. Keep dashes to short bursts and close to the ground unless you're setting up a slam attack. Upward & downward melee will give you enough DPS to carry you through almost all of the demo; the up-down combo generally destroys the first phase of bosses. The point of the game is to efficiently manage your stamina and engagements, using attack/dash invulnerability to simultaneously avoid getting hit and spam melee on the boss. The hardest phases are Kogasa's 2nd and Yuugi's 3rd. Kogasa keeps jumping to the right corner until the end of the stage where she goes left, so getting into melee range is a little trickier. Yuugi slams the ground a couple of times, making danmaku waves. The first wave won't reach you if you go to the stage ends but after that there's so much danmaku it's hard to keep up invulnerability. The trick is to go into her 3rd phase with as many lives as you can, dash in and spam DPS when she's stopped slamming, and never be under her when she's midair. DPS and figuring out spell patterns does feel nice, but danmaku's been nerfed to high hell (haha) and movement's still unsatisfying. The restraints on danmaku and flight are jarring and I absolutely hate the lack of a jump button. Bombing's useless since you have a vulnerability period before you get it off and you could use that life for doing more melee DPS instead. In my opinion, not a very good demo.

  9. If you're using HxD Hex Editor (or any other I believe, this is just the one I used), make sure "Hex-values" is selected before trying to search for the string. "Text-string" will give you nothing.

  12. You can run this game, only with everything from this download. Step 1: Open config.exe and select the option with five question marks (as seen in linked photo) Step 2: Open th_dnh.exe. Then open Directory. Select "[DIR.] thC". Then select the one that says Concealed the Conclusion in blue text and press Z again. Step 3: Now you can select any of the four types (to change it you have to press control key at the same time) Step 4: Enjoy Edit: To play in a bigger screen, press maximize button on the tab bar

  24. ThPatch's translations are injected directly from their site, that's why your anti-virus is triggering, we can't do anything about that because they don't do standalone patches anymore. I thought this was written in the description already, i'll fix that.

  26. I hate this mentality. I absolutely loathe it. "It's not me that could ever be wrong, it's [other thing's] fault"... while you're trying to play a Japanese game, clearly not understanding Japanese and consequently having no understanding of the game at all. Rather than ask for clarification on game mechanics, you presume you know it all because you did a bit of blind trial-and-error. So, you know, instead of blaming the demo for being bad when you don't understand something, maybe try to understand it rather than writing an authoritative "guide" about how much you don't know. You even openly profess to know nothing about the water mechanic, despite it being the central mechanic to the game. The "dash" button (which was called graze and not dash for a reason) isn't just used for movement; it nullifies attacks and turns them to water, which you can then collect by grazing them with the same button. Note that you don't have to "dash" with the graze button, either - if you just press or hold it in place without moving, you'll enter a parry stance of sorts. Nullifying attacks and collecting their water is how you restore your hydration metre (which is deplenished by one orb when you take hits or use spellcards,). If you realised this, then you'd know that bombs aren't useless at all, because if you're playing properly your hydration metre will be maxed out and you'd be wasting the water you're collecting by not using them. But you've been doing the equivalent to mashing buttons at random in a fighting game and spamming continues until it works, and then have the gall to complain that not having infinite resources for dashing (which nullifies attacks...) is "jarring". If there weren't restraints on it, it'd be no different to having infinite bombs in one of the main games. The complaint about not having a jump button, when two of the three buttons can be used to jump by holding up while pressing them, is also bizarre. Honestly, what a terrible review of the demo.

  27. It's a false positive most likely. It's also easy to assume it is a false positive since only 1 of 70 virus scanning engines detected it as a trojan while the rest have not. If a few more were to detect it, then maybe there is something wrong. Either way, it's best to be careful with running any executable you download off the internet.

  29. I think you just need to run in Japanese app locale or something. That's what I did. (Nothing to do with the reply to the other comment) This game is kind of confusing at first, but once you get used to the controls, like how to get moist, it's fun- until that first spellcard.

  30. I love how half the comments are people talking about the files being corrupted, and the other half is people complaining about danmaku "unfairness". Do you not see the "hell" in "bullet hell"? The Touhou series is generally regarded as one of the most balanced and refined series of BH shooters out there. if you are having problems with the diff, well, that's on you. you either don't have the mentality to understand spell card patterns and the like, or, you just haven't played/practiced enough. my best recommendation is to go and try to beat TH06 on all diffs 'cept luna. once you can do that, start working on 7-10 simultaneously. once you can do all that, congrats, you should now be able to attempt playing this game. Touhou is a series that's meant to be played chronologically. The series requires practice, literally any game with a basic understanding of game design requires practice to be "good" at. most likely you just haven't played enough, or you have shit perception. Now as to the people with corrupted files, the people uploading these files do so on their own time, and have no obligation to fix everyone's complaint if the file works for them. the game runs, and overtime the file will be updated by other admins/mods or the same person. Don't expect these files to be golden as soon as they're released on this site. maybe here's an idea, try helping out, and seeing what you can do to improve the file quality, maybe see if you can de-corrupt the files, or give your working version of the game to a staff member here so they can sort it out. also, ik i'm bad with caps, so, sorry if the caps (or lack thereof) makes it hard to take what i'm saying seriously. i'm too lazy to move my hands in an awkward position bc of hand problems I should probably take the time to fix that tho.

  31. Literally in tears. I had been using Anex86 wrongly configurated to play Touhou 1-5 since 2013, and the sound was really messed up since it didn't use all the sound channels. Now that I'm finally able to fully listen to the soundtrack... I can't stop. ;-;

  35. How to get the new demo to run for now (This method worked for me) 1. Set the locale to Japanese 2. Rename the folder to something without japanese characters 3. Make sure there are no spaces and any non unicode characters in that new folders name, and all folders leading up to it 4. Run as Admin, otherwise it'll crash immediately after it runs.

  36. For people who don't know, this is a free steam game. All of the game is online, so I'm not entirely sure what dan even put in here (it could just be the DLC and it tricks the game into you having it idk, haven't checked it yet). As such, everything you do, including the single player, is run in the server. It's a good game, although the translation isn't always the best. Also, if you want to play 2v2 ranked, have fun with that, there hasn't been a ranked 2v2 on NA for years.

  37. aw shoot I just realized that there WAS a comment section so I shouldnt've put it in reviews.... I'll put this here if this is the default thing that people see. (basically just what I posted in the reviews section) It had a lot more cursors than I thought! Glad to see love to so many different characters! It was really well made and I enjoy using this pack! Here's a little thing for those who don't know how to use it: 1) Extract the files to desktop using winrar or a similar program (For ease of access) 2) Open up your settings and follow this path: Settings -> Devices -> Mouse And within the "Mouse" tab, select "Additional mouse options" 3) Open up the "Pointers" tab in the "Mouse Properties" window and double click the cursors you want to change. (The Scheme name of mine is "Reimu" because I saved it as such. You will not have a "Reimu" scheme until you make it yourself) 4) Select "Desktop" and open up your folder that you extracted there (the animated cursor pack which is likely named "Touhou Cursor Pack") And then select the icons you want. I suggest the ones from the "[S A K U R A] Cursor Pack" as they seem the most in depth and well kept. If you want Reimu's folder but can't read kanji, it's this last one within S A K U R A's folder By the way.. please ignore my 4GO icons... Your files will probably not look like that ("This PC" and "Network" and other files normally don't have characters as them... don't be confused by them)

  41. By the way, if your Windows Defender or any other anti-virus say something such as "Trojan:Win32/Blueteal!rfn" it is a false positive, so yes it's perfectly safe if anyone's wondering. To fix the auto-quarantine just click "See full history" under "Quarantined threats", click the dropdown menu and press allow.
