  1. Have you ever stumbled upon something you were not expecting to se be connected with the Touhou community and games? What would be one of the places where you were not expecting to find Touhou, but still found it? In my case, probably the connection I was never expecting to make was between Satou Rina and the Touhou fan-game Koumajou Densetsu 2. How does it come? Rina was the voice actor for Reimu in that game. To my surprise, the voice actor for a lot of characters that caught my interest (and one that I really like a lot) proves to have also been involved not only with Touhou, but also one of my top 10 favorite 2hus. Now, she not just the voice of Tanamachi Kaoru, Eula and Tennessee & California, but also the voice of our favorite red-white miko. And since her birthday was just a week ago, back on the 2nd of May (funny how it coincides with my father's birthday), I would like to wish a belated happy birthday to Rina. And now, enough fanboying on my side... What are some of the most unexpected connections and contributions to the Touhou community you have seen? Is there anything or anyone you were not expecting to do anything connected to the series?

  2. Actually, I had the same experience when I picked up Azure Reflections, the side-scrolling STG fangame. Cirno was the third playable character in it, and throughout my playthrough, I couldn't get my mind off of her very distinct voice. I knew I'd heard it from somewhere, but I put my finger on it. Then I made it to the credits and found out that she was voiced by Yuka Iguchi. For the record, if you haven't played Azure Reflections to hear it for yourself, I strongly encourage looking up a playthrough to hear her voice. It's fantastic casting, and I consider her voice to be the canon Cirno voice. Yuka's got a lot of VA roles under her belt, but I knew her specifically because she played my favorite character, Hinata Miyake, from my favorite anime, A Place Further than the Universe. After finding that, I also found out that she voiced Tewi in A Summer Day's Dream. Much less interesting, but it also showed me that Reimu there was played by Mai Nakahara, who plays Nagisa Furukawa in my second favorite anime, Clannad. So yeah. It was cool to see that everything related to Japan does eventually come around to Touhou if you look hard enough. Oh, and @CountVonNumenor, you probably noticed, but in Azure Reflections, Rina Satou does reprise her role as Reimu there too. It wasn't shown in the list you provided, but I figured you'd appreciate it.

  4. You can simply move them via USB. Keep in mind that the score files (save data) and replays for games after Touhou 12 are saved in [YourUser]/AppData/Roaming/ShanghaiAlice, while for the games from TH6 to TH12, they're saved in the game's folder. (This is only for the bullet hells)

  5. Hello to all the new people! It seems like there has been a great influx of new Shrine denizens, and unfortunately I was not around to greet them. Nonetheless, I feel glad there's new blood in here (also yeah, I am the accidental source of the AMA trend; it is actually a fun way in which we could learn about new people)

  7. My username came from the name of my favorite character in a MMO I play back in middle school. Grandchase was the name and Sieghart look like a cool character so I just took that name and have been using it for the longest time.

  8. There is a bit of a long story about the origin of my name, which I have written about in the AMA thread to begin all AMA threads. Probably the shortest version would be that I have gone through a variety of names beforehand, and the current one is a combination paying homage to my previous names. (also came as a need when I started my own DA art page...)

  11. I've so far played about 12 hours of version 0.01a, played all characters on Lunatic and got a No Bomb No Focus No Hit 1cc with Reimu. Overall I find the game better than expected. The game will however die very quick if netplay isn't introduced in the full game in a workable state and to a lesser extent if the game keeps scoring absent. In that case the game will be a fun enough, but short-lived experience. That said I will stay cautious regarding how the full game will turn out. These are my more detailed experiences with the demo of this game:

  12. I like any fruit that's easy to eat, if you require a ton of steps, at that point i prefer a vegetable. Dragonfruit (in here, we call them "Pitahaya"), Apples, Tangerines (seeds are annoying) and Bananas. Can't choose one over the other.

  13. Grapes are super good. I love sugary fruit the most because natural sugar is good fuel, and grapes are great when sweet or sour.

  15. It's out. Grab it here or wait for the steam page to eventually show up as the trial is free anyways. Yes this is a torrent so you need qbittorrent or something else to download it properly.

  16. Alright, time to finally answer the first round of questions: Probably I would say the Total War series of strategy games. Without my first contact with the original Rome Total War game from 2004, I wonder if I would have got the interest in history I still have up to this day. I have had a lot of plans for travelling the past year, but I did not manage to mobilize myself for a journey that long. First to France, then shortened to just Germany, then just to Budapest, and now to a short trip towards Bulgaria. I hope I could go soon in a weekend trip to Sofia, just so I could have the chance to finally visit a foreign country. That is kind of a long story... Through the years (about the past 4 years), I have used a great variety of names. My first online name, used about 6 years ago, I was pretty much like your average boomer online. It was for the first time I was actually using the internet for more than just watching videos on YouTube, and started using forums. The name I was suing at the time was just my real name (you can still find it on some history forums). Afterwards, as I already got a strong interest in the Austro-Hungarian Army due to making a personal investigation, I ended up using the name "Count Andrei". Quite possibly, the name was also inspired by the image of a local Hungarian lord, Count Arpad Tamasy von Fogaras: At the same time, as I was still in my late phase of the interest for Lord of the Rings, and was entering the Warhammer 40K phase (and very possibly a final remnant of Star Wars), another nickname arose: "Imperial Black Numenorian". Why a Black Numenorian? Because I really liked this image of what may look as either one of those wicked men or an Orc general. I like the art style, since it has some sort of 1980s vibe, and for a decent amount of time I stuck with it. After the beginning of the lockdown in 2020, my interest for the Austro-Hungarian Army came back, yet my names remained in the land of the Numenorians. What really ended up sealing the fate of what would become my current nickname was the creation of my first art page account. When I created my DeviantArt, I had to pick a name. I was not very sure what to go with, and none of my initial options seemed to fit. After multiple tries, I have ended up combining the old "Count Andrei" and "Imperial Black Numenorian" into what ended up becoming "CountVonNumenor". Count - from the original nickname I was suing that was not my irl name Von - probably taken from the memory of that image of Count Arpad Tamasy Numenor - from the old "Imperial Black Numenorian" nickname @SoundOfRayne I am not very sure what would my absolutely favorite piece of Touhou media be, so I will cheat a little bit and split it into categories: Official games - I did not have too much contact with them, but probably the only game I actually played was Perfect Cherry Blossom. And that game really has a strong nostalgic feeling for some reason, even if I booted it up for the first time a couple years ago. Official music: from my current experience, I would probably say that either Ghostly Field Club or Changeability of Strange Dream are the most memorable ZUN albums I have listened to Official literature: until now, I have only read the first 5 volumes of Forbidden Scrollery. However, I absolutely love that series Fan games: I have not really played any proper one of those (I will talk more about that in a separate thread), but I like the looks of two games that I would try - Mystia's Izakaya and Touhou Lost Branch of Legend. Oh, and maybe Kubinashi Recollection as well Fanart: for about a year now, the artist that caught my attention fully has been Iganashi1. They got me with their depiction of Eiki, and from there I stayed on. Probably before Iganashi1 however, there was Linmiee. Unfortunately, she is no longer part of the community (I think) due to some negative feedback she received last year (I have a whole thread about that), but at least her Touhou-related art is still stored on Danbooru. Fan music: currently, the answer might be a little obvious, but I will go again with Akatsuki Records. I think I might be a little obsessed with listening to their songs and I need help on that Fan comics: I did not get too much into those, especially since I did not know where to start from. I did have, for some reason, the chance to read all of Bombergrape's Touhou doujins, yet something that really caught my attention recently was this thing, thanks to a fandub: I love the art style, the wholesome vibe, the comedy and the characters have both cute and funny moments. And on top, the fan voiceover really got me laughing with the edits and added effects. As for the doujin itself, it can be found on Dynasty Reader: https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/kene_moko_and_the_students#1 Just for the taste of it (I will end Part 1 of my answers here)
