  1. I can see OP can't make up their mind, hehe. I like Patchouli. Give me all the Patchys. Forever and ever. Strangely, I have very little to do with her, so I'm not sure why I relate to her so much. Either opposites attract, or I'm a bigger weirdo than I estimated. Suika is my top two! In contrast to the serious and gloomy nature of the top spot, her carefree lifestyle teaches me to not worry about life and enjoy it as much as you can. Isn't that inspiring?

Release Information Type: Bullet Hell Developer: Team Shanghai Alice Publisher: Team Shanghai Alice Release: Comiket 67, on December 30, 2004 Language: English-Patched (ThCrap Self-Updating Standalone) Silhouette On Cover: Kaguya Houraisan (Final Boss B) Character Information Playable Characters: 8 (4 selections as teams of two - Reimu & Yukari, Marisa & Alice, Youmu & Yuyuko, and Sakuya & Remilia; later on, characters become selectable individually once unlocked.) Shot Types: 1 Each (So 2 when playing as a team.) POC: Focus-Activated before Max Power; Always On after Max Power is attained. Description The real moon has been replaced with a fake the night before the Harvest Moon Festival! The girls know the gravity of this situation - the moon carries more importance than simply being the subject of the festival. However, they've only got a single night to resolve the issue, so they've created teams in an attempt to expedite the investigation as much as possible. Our girls hurry, knowing time is of the essence, but can they resolve this incident in time? Unique Gameplay Mechanics Time * This game's story is time-intensive; the game begins at 11 PM, and if it becomes 5 AM at any point, the game is immediately over, even if you had additional lives left over after having successfully cleared a stage. Thus, you don't want to run out of time to investigate the incident. * Continues cost half an hour each. * Time generally advances 1 hour at the conclusion of each stage. However, if you meet the Time Point quota for the stage by collecting Time Orbs, which you normally earn by killing enemies, then time only advances half an hour at the end of that stage, which frees up enough time for one additional Continue. Although killing enemies is the default way to earn orbs, it isn't the only possible way; you can earn more ways to get orbs - see below. * If you never meet any quotas, you have enough time for exactly one Continue. Human/Youkai (H/Y) Teams * Unfocused fire comes from the team's human, and focused fire comes from the team's youkai. * The H/Y Gauge at the bottom-left of the playfield tracks your recent firing trends, and awards you a bonus if you've mostly been firing as one type recently; thus, you can work toward one bonus or the other to suit the situation you're in. -> 80% Human or More: You start earning Time Orbs just for hitting enemies; you start earning orbs gradually the entire time you're causing damage to enemies or bosses. -> 80% Youkai or More: You start earning Time Orbs for grazing; all grazes become worth saved time. * The H/Y Gauge is also pushed toward Human or Youkai by which character collects the Time Orbs. * Some enemies can summon spirits to assist them. Humans can shoot and defeat spirits, but Youkai shots go right through them. Spirits are worth massive Time Orb bonuses. Last Spell Cards * All main bosses of each stage have a Last Spell, but they don't normally use it. If you meet the Time Point quota by the end of the fight, then they'll use it against you. If you earn the right to face off against a Last Spell, while fighting it, you will be unable to Bomb, but getting hit won't result in loss of life or time (although it will cost you the spell card; you won't capture it). If you beat it, you get more Time Orbs and a boost to your score. * The player also has Last Spells! This game lets you deathbomb more easily than other games in the series, but this comes at a cost of an extra bomb (2 instead of 1). When this happens, the character's teammate jumps in and uses a stronger version of their normal Spell Card. Scorefile * This scorefile was originally acquired from an unknown source. It was then improved upon by Dark Kijin, and the spell card collection completion was brought to 100% by Drizzle. * It has 100% Extra availability, and more notably, 100% spell card availability in Spell Card Practice. * [Difficulty-Character clearance is under review, but is not 100%.] -> You can help get this scorefile to 100%! If you have a scorefile which improves upon the progress in this existing file, please submit it us! Th08 (IN) Scorefile [Dark Kijin & Drizzle].zip

  4. when i see this round tracklist 22: Nami Haven - Rough Sea (Blacklolita Remix) Tenyu? Tenyuhuang? been a while since i heard that name, although this is a remix by other person. how do i start this ngl but this feel repetitive for me, the slow part feels really slow relative to the real time. the middle upbeat part is kinda nice though, im not liking the quick pause thing though. and then at the very end, the climax, it feels too crowded eh aint that bad, the infamous me and EDM relationship 6.5/10 23: Diao ye zong - The beautiful world Diao ye zong suffers the same condition as Demetori for me (but slightly worse). although this mostly applies only for instrumentals and merami vocal. if it's nayuta or kushi, i still like them. Diao ye zong mainly focused on the storytelling, some of the lyric might feel a bit forced into the music. while quite a lot of people like the storytelling, i personally prefer stories to be told vague or even purely by instrumental and mood, it leaves the audience to fill in the gap with their own imagination. my favorite part is at the 6:00 7/10 24: Meng Shi - U.N. Owen was Her? a track from 2005!? rare stuff!! who the heck is Meng Shi, "孟世" is read Mōse the string was quite loud in my first listen but then it got better in later replaying, idk what happened. after a lot of listening, i cant find any holes other than my grudges to U.N Owen it's perfect 8.5/10 ...rare? it's still available in bandcamp yes still rare, quite incredible a doujin track from that age to hold that long. hmm sus hat and even peppy liked it holyshit

  5. /22: Nami Haven - Rough Sea (Blacklolita Remix): I have a hunch that Ken added extra spice in the final round. Right, Round 8! The song maintain the hype and I can hear the "Beep" at the start (I'm not so sure about how it sounded) to deliver a compelling feeling, also the pause near the end of the sound gives you a break; it starts of with a bang and end with satisfaction. I need to get my boogie glasses! Quite Melodic indeed. Another good entry and a splendid order done Ken. 8/10 (Also this shall be an ever lasting memory, Theme of Eastern Story in the final round the longest remix tournament ever; I now only realized this and my scoring preference sky rocketed. This kind of setting can only be pulled off by the one and only the master of playlist.) 23: Diao ye zong - The beautiful world: Someone really enjoys bringing the big guns. At the start it sounds really similar to "Watery Grave" From PvZ especially since they're both at the start. Nostalgia is strong in this one. Very somber tune, and it really does move into a good transition not too long in which it blew my mind. I've got to double check on how smooth the transition is. The guitar solo really brings out the flavor. And the last section to feel the credits. 8.5/10 (For reminding about Watery Grave) (I wonder how DrunkenFlower reacts to this one) 24: Meng Shi - U.N. Owen was Her?: Bias overload!!! This right here is my dream theme, the one and only song maybe even the first one to speak to me in a spiritual level, I know I have said this a lot since the tournament started. But I'm real taken by this arrangement; it's one of the first arranges I've found ever since I joined this community. I would've missed it it by a long shot If I didn't wondered in the vast majority of arranges but I'm glad I did since I've got it all saved up in my drives well, moments before getting hit by a strike and vanishing to the depths of unknown but it seems like it's resurfacing yet again. I've got to say this one theme accompany my journey for years, even at the start of the Pandemic, exams and it even help me made some friends and eventually my brother to be in Touhou. So, this arrangement holds a lot to me. Sort of like a older sister. It also helps that Touhou 6 is also one of my first games along with 4. I mean I've heard of many remixes of this but this one truly makes it Justice. The Brilliant sting instruments creating a medieval like classic formula creating a dreamy atmosphere just like the Pc-98 era Touhou games. And for the finish I can't stress enough how good the bells are! Even at the end they hold so much weigh! And just the damm instrument choice here, I can't comprehend how great this whole arrangement is. And for matching all of my preferences, I bestow thee upon the mightiest honor: 10/10 And with that the tournament is over and Ken I didn't expect you to put 4 remixes here. Frankly, I fell quite honored. Well, now it sure is a finish, a good finish. Perhaps, being the first one to review why your selection is the final song to tie things up really is quite a feeling to have. Nonetheless, happy ones. Ah, this has got to be one of the most memorable days in this forum. With Newer members participating in here, I'm sure the old crew is really happy to have us too. Now, I shall wait for others review patiently.

  6. A Fracture FeatureTM this week, just 'cause. I've just about given up on getting to hear the full Critadel soundtrack; what I can find is really good, but for some reason it hasn't been released either officially or unofficially. While I wasn't motivated to plan out a feature for the rest of the soundtrack, the trailer music for Dead Estate impressed me (surprising, considering it's partly English vocal). Sonic Origins was in no way what I was hoping it would be, but at least we got a new Hyper Potions composition out of it.

  7. In spite of both my avatar and signature showing otherwise (which are really just for laughs), as I've mentioned loads of times already, it's always been Suika for me. Not only is her main theme from IaMP my favourite Touhou track of all time, she was also the very first model I ever bought, along with Marisa, and my very first dakimakura as well. She was quite possibly the very first Touhou character I ever saw in CG form too, in somebody's avatar as I remember, although I don't recall the exact website anymore. I still have it somewhere, but it's ridiculously small on my 8K and I have come across a larger, better quality version since - I'll add it here for anyone who's interested in seeing it. (^_~) Reasons? Well, she's everything I could never be basically: cute, strong, fun loving, constantly horny... because she's got horns, get it! Plus, the way she slides along the floor and keeps jumping about chucking crap at you; grabbing hold of you and spinning you round; appearing out the mist; etc., not giving a flying fig whether she wins or not, always cheers me up, not to mention the myriad of Suika-melon jokes naturally. (^o^)

  8. Alice, she's so damn nice (even if she's a bit creepy...). "According to Perfect Memento in Strict Sense, maybe since she was originally a human, even as a youkai, she has high understanding and friendship level to humans and presents a low danger level, and if someone gets lost in the Forest of Magic, she also gladly gives shelter upon arriving at her house. However, Alice's house is covered all over with dolls, and since she is not very eager for conversation, it seems like visitors immediately flee when there is something eerie. In chapters 5-6 of Strange and Bright Nature Deity, the Three Fairies of Light accidentally arrived at her house and Alice was hospitable to them, providing tea and cake. She seemed caring with the fairies." - Touhou Wiki See? She's clearly the best!! No other 2hu can come closer to her!!! jkjkjk Still, I may be a bit biased since Alice is my number 1 favorite, and has been so for like almost 4 years, but yeah, she does seem caring and nice, but she's also indifferent to humans, which is fine by me. Idk she's just so cute to me. (and she's an indoors type like me ehuheuahsuha)

  9. We now enter the final round, and the farthest a tournament has ever reached. ROUND 8: 22: Nami Haven - Rough Sea (Blacklolita Remix) A more melodic side of EDM. 23: Diao ye zong - The beautiful world A famous circle in all its glory. 24: Mōse - U.N. Owen was Her? A respectfully reflective closing.

  10. Oh yeah, I forgot about this old article. It might come in handy https://mimidoshima.wordpress.com/2021/04/27/did-i-just-read-ip-laws-for-the-sake-of-touhou/. Abotut the game with stolen assets, which I think got into trouble like twice?

  11. Recently, I found myself revisiting an animation channel I once watched before my Touhou days began. One of their videos uses Bad Apple!!, which is how I was originally exposed to the song. However, the video only contains small parts of Bad Apple, as it is an unfinished animation parody of the famous shadow art video. What I did not realise, which I only noticed now by looking in the video's description, is that the version of Bad Apple contained in the video is in fact not the Alstroemeria Records arrange, but a different cover of it. So, I present to you: the first version of Bad Apple I ever heard - Draw the Emotional's version - now in full. And in light of my recent Kosuzu Motoori art I shared in Creative Works thread, I also have an arrangement of her theme to bring to light. The song is called Fantastic Girl Story, and it's by, errrr, certain circle that likes to strike down their works from Youtube. Hopefully this one stays up, at least for now...
