Touhou/thcrap on Mac?

I've gotten my friend a little interested in Touhou after showing footage and having him play a bit of it at my place. I want to send him some downloads for it but he is sometimes stuck with just a Macbook and I know they don't work with OSX on their own. I've played Touhou on a Mac I used to have before by using Winebottler but that was back when there were standalone patches as opposed to thcrap being the standard it is today. I'm curious to know if Winebottler still works with games that use thcrap, and if not what a workaround would be or if there are still places to get standalone translation patches.

 

(yes i know they're perfectly playable in japanese but i feel like it would be more approachable in english and you would miss out on the dialogue and characters)
