Murasa’s Chanteys

Ahoy! And firstly, thanks for sitting in. It was around late 2017 when I got into arranging some Touhou remixes after listening to a remix for “Septette For The Dead Princess.” To sum it up, I mostly turn some of my favorites into Rock/Metal remixes. I know this has been done to death, and several of these tend to be overplayed on YouTube, but I wanted to give it a shot, anyway.

Now, I’ll just post all my current slew of 2hu tracks thus far. I obviously plan to make more, as I’m jamming to several tracks almost everyday. P.S: The sound quality isn’t the best since I have to resort to recording everything on my phone, so I apologize in advance for your ears’ well being.

Anyway, up first is my recent post on SoundCloud. Alice In Wonderland from Mystic Square.https://m.soundcloud.com/yoshie-shinozaki-1/alice-in-wonderland-touhou

Next is a Black Metal styled re-remix of U.N Owen Was Her? In the style of Final Savage.https://m.soundcloud.com/yoshie-shinozaki-1/final-savage-u-n-owen-was-her

This set belongs to Legacy Of Lunatic Kingdom. An Alternative Metal styler for both Pure Furies~ Whereabouts Of The Heart & Pandemonic Planet.https://m.soundcloud.com/yoshie-shinozaki-1/pure-furies-whereabouts-of-the

And that’s all for now. If you have any criticisms or suggestions, please feel free to speak your mind, and I will try my best to do much better next.

P.S.S: I’ll be posting both my latest work on the first page, and on the newest page onward to keep things current. Thank you for your time, mates!

I'm not into metal so this isn't really for me, but I'm not about to quench anyone's musical interest, especially if they are making music, so good on you for making what you love.

This actually reminds me that I want to do covers of some Touhou songs (music is part of my namesake, after all). It's too bad that with GCSE exams looming round the corner I don't really have much time to engage in time consuming creative projects like that (the game I'm programming is already years behind schedule XD). But I'm sure(?) I'll get round to it eventually. Maybe. Hey, at least once my exams are done I'm going to have the longest summer holiday ever.

Sorry, this turned into a bit of a rant about school without it really meaning to, haha.

Hey, it’s no problem, at all. It helps to vent from time to time, so don’t feel bad for bringing up what’s on your mind. And thank you for your input. Even though this isn’t one’s cup of tea, I do appreciate your honesty.

I hope your exams go swimmingly so when Summer rolls in, you’ll have plenty free-time to show off your own creative works, mate!

Lastly, what genre of music do ya prefer? If possible, I’d like to match it and release another cover in that style. I’ll play practically anyway.(I started off playing Techno in my old forums, haha.)

Honestly, pinning down exactly what kind of music it is I like is really difficult for me. I listen to all kinds of things, but I guess it's usually electronic or prog-rock. Thing is, I'm often put of by things that are too electronic (hence my avoidance of dubstep), and I'm put of by things that are too heavy rock (hence my avoidance of metal). Also, pretty much everything I listen to is game music, whether it be remixes or the originals. I've tried, but never really managed to get myself into anything 'mainstream' or 'normal'.

And then there's the music I play. I play a brass instrument, French horn, so the music I actually play is usually classical or jazzy or something completely different. It's not really what I listen to, but it is music I can still (usually) appreciate and enjoy, and playing that music is actually really fun.

So all in all: don't push yourself just to make something I might like, because when it comes to music I'm really picky and don't even understand what it is I want myself, haha.

I get how that feels, mate. I just hope I can put something together that everybody might like. That’s my goal as a performer, after all; To appease what small audience I do have.

Honestly, if the rhythm is comprehensible enough to pick each note apart and replicate on my guitar, I’ll listen to anything. Long as the song isn’t boring, of course. Personally, I’d choose Classical music over Jazz just ‘cause it’s a lot more fun to play.(Which is kinda weird since Jazz is the music of my home, but I digress.)

Now, back to the music. I tried to put a Synth-oriented remix for Reisen’s theme together, but the end results weren’t to my liking. So, I recorded a hard rock guitar styled take on Eirin’s theme instead. Converting the piano into a guitar solo was a pain in the aft but I said “F**k it” and improvised a newish solo in its place.

Enough chatter now. Here’s Gensokyo Millennium~ History Of The Moon. https://m.soundcloud.com/yoshie-shinozaki-1/gensokyo-millennium-touhou
