This is not Len'en, where characters are androgynous/genderless, and therefore fans can interpret them as whatever they want them to be. I mean not even Toyosatomimi no Miko, who was initially a man (but ended up becoming a woman once revived because, I guess ZUN-ification beam?), is now a woman without a doubt.
