Since nobody started any threads in the Written Works section, I figured I might as well kick things off This is a general topic for recommending any Touhou fanfics you enjoy; preferably, give a description of the work (and a link, obviously), and tell us why you liked it! Are there any fanfics you feel like sharing? Any hidden gems you want to show us? Any plain silly work just for fun? Here's your space! For starters, I'll recommend two fanfics I've read recently. Dolphin Rider Koishi Or, Touhou meets the magical girl genre. It feels much like a mahou shoujo anime using Touhou characters and elements, and the author organizes these things around a unique setting, a modern city taking after Gensokyo, and pretty much every character here has an interesting twist in their characterization. Fairly long (this could easily be animated into a 20-something-episode anime series), engaging writing, events both funny, dramatic and outright awesome, and an overall creative spin on a rather silly premise; definitely a must read if you have the time to spare. There are a few points in the storytelling that I find rather iffy, but it does not detract from the experience as a whole. Functioning Alcoholic An amusing story about Suika living her drunk freeloader life at the Hakurei Shrine... sort of. Her crazy antics move the plot in unexpected ways, and while you can sort of tell the writer was kind of writing by the seat of their pants, the story does not particularly suffer in quality as a result. It's not a particularly outsanding piece of fanfiction, and it certainly won't change your world views or anything, but it's a fun read if nothing else. While many others said the opposite. They cause great destruction, calamity, and darkness. Chaos ensued in the once peaceful land, lasting many days. One day, The Ordinary Magician Marisa Kirisame finds herself awakened at a patient room at Eientei. And her journey, across a Nightmarish Gensokyo begins. Takes place after the Epilogue of the original ⑨ SOULS.
