Should I be afraid of Total Virus results? almost every site I've tried to download this game on had some malicious file attached, I want to know if I can trust this one.

Is the copy of the game provided here just faulty and not incompatible with thprac and if so is there a way to get one that isn't? Thprac finds it just fine however when I launch the game I get this error log (see attachment).

Or rather I realise now, how to get thprac to recognise the Touhou06.exe as the game and not the 東方紅魔郷.exe because even when I launch 東方紅魔郷.exe without thprac I get the same error.

The only reason why it has a false positive is because thcrap directly injects files into the folder when you launch it. That's probably what caused the false positive occured on those other sites that you mentioned.

This was previously a message about a vpatch error that was preventing me from playing the game, but I changed my non-unicode locale to Japanese and that fixed it. Yey.

I don't think I can delete this post, so I'll just spend the space gushing about how EoSD was an amazing introduction to the Touhou series for me as a newbie and I'm glad I started out with it. I plan on 1cc-ing EoSD on normal before moving on to any other Touhou game. As frustrating as it is, I love the game too much to skip it before unlocking the extra stage. I nearly did it just today, too. Died to Red Magic on my very last life and three bombs. I'll get it eventually...

I just downloaded the file and after changing my locale to Japanese, it still won't work. All I get is this message in Japanese. I see people saying to download any dll files I may be missing, but I don't know what those are or where I can locate them. How can I fix this?

What I did was I downloaded Touhou 6 - The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil.zip and extracted it. When I clicked the Touhou06 exe, at first it didn't work cause it said I needed a d3dx9_39.dll file. The solution was to just go to microsoft's official site and download DirectX: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35. Once you downloaded it, just do the setup thing and after its done, it should work. So basically just download the zip file and extract it --> download DirectX from the link I provided --> click Touhou06.

Edit: oh wow, there was an instructions file. I'm actually blind........ Well, just do as the instructions say. You can ignore what I wrote above.

extract the file if you haven't already, open the extracted file, double click on the application called "Touhou06", wait for the game to update to the latest patch, click "ok" at the bottom right(?) of the window, double click the application again, and you should be able to play it when it finishes loading and this appears

(press the enter or z key to open the main menu)

This is the first Touhou game I've played and it'll always hold a special place in my heart.

Maybe someone could assist me with an issue I am having with running the game on the patched version, on touhou06 I get an error code that says (L'Could not open thcrap\thcrap_loader.exe) and when I try the other application, the other one with the kanji 東方紅魔郷 it opens the game but gets stuck (Not responding) on the initial screen that says this is a curtain fire shooting game and it has the title music playing.

Hey, is there any reason as to why suddenly all the first era windows games are running at 50 FPS instead of 60?

Does anybody know how to use the retexture pack? I don't really understand the instructions, and when I tried to follow them the best I could, nothing changed at all in game.

Guys i opened the game it works fine

The only things that work are the movement and enter

but i can't find the button to shoot or use bombs and i tried to remap the controls but i don't seem to be able to edit the controls

I opened the installer and got it on a dvd drive folder, but when I open the read me file its just a bunch of random symbols, aswell as when I try to install it. is there anything im missing?

Whenever I try to run the game after the new update, this message shows up. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it still did not work.
